Research wind farm

DLR is developing the wind energy research farm at its Krummendeich site in Lower Saxony together with partners from the Research Alliance Wind Energy. The research wind farm is designed for long-term research and, in addition to two conventional wind turbines (Wind Turbine Generators; WTG), it will also include a smaller experimental facility as well as meteorological measurement masts and other measurement technologies. The research wind farm will have a service life of approximately 20 years.

The research wind farm in Krummendeich is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK).
